Learn to ski or snowboard at Alpine Meadows in a fun, easy environment. Our trained instructors will have you falling in love and making turns before you know it. First time lessons are offered daily and focus on having you feel comfortable on the snow, learning the basics and, of course, having fun!

Learn the basics of turning, stopping and riding lifts at a comfortable pace. Expand skills and gain confidence as you explore Squaw's extensive beginner area, featuring our progressive balance-building terrain gardens. The meeting area is located on the left side of the lodge, adjacent to Hot Wheels lift, under a large red sign that reads "Ski & Snowboard School." Please meet ready to go with equipment in hand. For reservations, call us at 800-403-0206.
The Alpine adult ski & snowboard school will close April 14. Private lessons will be available 50% off at Squaw Valley from April 15-28.
Burton Learn to Ride
Squaw Valley is excited to announce our new partnership with Burton and their acclaimed Learn to Ride program for winter 2012-13. Burton’s Learn to Ride program is designed to make learning to snowboard fun and easy by combining proven teaching methodologies with beginner-specific equipment.
Not a Beginner, But Interested in Learning More?
Never fear, if you are interested in improving your skiing and riding skills, we have several programs for you. Group lessons are great for anyone who likes the support of fellow skiers/riders in their level, and private lessons provide a unique opportunity to iron out a particular skill.
Release of Liability
Please fill out a release of liability form for each individual taking a lesson. One per season is required.
