Why You Should Be At Alpine Meadows
- 1. Terrain. 2400 acres of North America's most celebrated terrain, 7 open powder bowls, summit-to-base groomed trails, panoramic views of Lake Tahoe & the surrounding peaks and 13 lifts to access it all. Alpine Meadows is noted for its relaxed, welcoming atmosphere.
- 2. Still looking for more? Your employee pass is also good at Squaw Valley which accesses 7 peaks, 3600 acres, and 30 lifts. Between the two resorts, you have access to 6,000 acres, 43 lifts and over 270 trails all on your Alpine Employee Pass. Plus, employees can easily get between the two resorts via the free Squaw Alpine Express shuttle.

- 7. Location. Alpine Meadows is conveniently located right next door to Squaw Valley, 7 miles from Lake Tahoe, 13 miles from the town of Truckee and 46 miles from Reno, Nevada and the Reno Tahoe International Airport.
Lake Tahoe is a world famous pristine jewel of nature. Surrounded on all sides by the Sierra Nevada Mountains, one can see on average 70 feet down into its clear blue waters. The second deepest lake in the United States at 1,645 feet deep, Lake Tahoe has 72 miles of shoreline. The closest town, Tahoe City, has 2 supermarkets, 24 restaurants and bars, 2 fitness clubs and a library.
Truckee is a growing city of 15,000. Founded in 1849, it still retains a lot of its frontier flavor but has a ton of modern amenities. There are 3 distinct shopping districts, a full service hospital, lots of gear shops, wine tasting rooms, 4 fitness clubs, 4 museums, a new community recreation center and Sierra College.
Reno – Their motto "The Biggest Little City" sums it up. Easily accessed by car, train or bus it has everything a major metropolis features plus gambling! However, it still possesses its small town feel and friendliness.
- 8. More location: We're in California, the coolest state on the planet. San Francisco, Wine Country, Death Valley and the Pacific Ocean are all within a 4 hour drive.
- 9. Weather. Alpine Meadows averages 450 inches of snowfall every winter - piled up into fluffy powder all over our wide-open bowls, miles of groomed trails, world-renowned steeps, and manicured terrain parks. In the spring the 450 inches transitions into buttery corn snow. When it's not dumping snow we enjoy beautiful sunny bluebird days because we're in California, the Sunshine State.
