Alpine would like to thank all of you for participating in our Rename a Trail Contest. The response was amazing and you all made this a very hard decision. Thanks again from the entie Alpine staff. Now pray for snow and check-out the new trail signs!
Alpine Meadows is seeking the input from the community to rename three of its most popular intermediate trails, namely Red, Green, and Blue Trails.
Why are the trails being renamed? Underwhelming but true, the colors which serve as trail names were given because they were the colors of the survey tape used during the trails' construction during the 1960s.
The trails are special and their names deserve a bit more character," said Jim Kercher, Alpine Meadows General Manager. "I remember working at Alpine in 1975; and even then, people consistently commented that the names needed some more creativity. For the trail re-naming contest, the best suggestions for the new names are going to come from people who ski and ride them on a regular - even daily - basis. The new trail names aim to reflect the strong connection between Alpine and its roots and community," he added.
1.The contest will take place at SkiAlpine.com. 2.Entry is free. 3.Put some real thought into possible names. The name or names you suggest should be memorable, meaningful, and appropriate.4.Suggest some new names soon! The deadline for all name submissions is Friday, September 12. 5.Be sure to tell us who you are. We want to be able to announce and award prizes to who provided the winning trail names. 6.Once all suggested names are collected, a select group of Alpine Meadows employees will vote on the best to determine the final decisions.7.Trail maps, brochures, and all marketing materials will be updated with the new trail names. 8.Participants may submit as many names as they'd like.Duplicate names submitted? The first entrant to submit a name will be the entrant considered to win. 9.Unless you have a burning desire to rename a specific color name, you need not specify which color name you'd like to replace with your suggested re-name.
Three winners will be chosen. Those three winners will be placed into a random drawing for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes.
1. First Prize: Adult Midweek season pass for winter 2008/2009. 2. Second Prize: All-day private tour of Alpine with lift line privileges for a maximum of five people. 3.
