Combine an Easter egg hunt with an avalanche beacon search practice session, and the result is the Beacon & Eggs beacon search contest at Alpine Meadows Ski Resort. Avalanche beacons will be buried in a one-acre area in at Alpine Meadows and competitors will proceed to the buried backpack using their beacons in “search” mode. Competitors work individually or in teams (up to four people), sharing the prizes for recovering the beacon. Competitors redeem a found beacon for incredible prizes.

Schlittentag is the German word for “sledding day”. Put simply, it translates as “daredevils willing to propel themselves down a snow-covered hill and over a jump on a sled they built themselves”.

This will be the most winter fun you’ve had sitting down.

Three person teams will stretch their imagination to build the wildest, fastest sled this side of the Alps. One will be the pilot and the two others will help give their sled the push it needs to win the race and the fame and fortune that follows.

The High Fives Foundation, Alpine Meadows | Squaw Valley, Volkl Skis and Marker Bindings present Trains 2012 Freestyle Ski & Snowboard Contest on Saturday, April 14, 2012 from 11am-4pm at Alpine Meadows Ski Resort.

The first annual Tahoe Jr. Slopestyle Series invites all kids up to age 15  to compete in this 'jam' style event that offers small and medium jumps and multiple features in the Dance Floor Terrain Park. Both Ski & Snowboard divisions will be offered for each age group.
