The Snowboard program is designed to help young riders develop strong fundamental skills, learn to be part of a team, and gain a joy and passion for snowboarding. Coaches focus on progressive skill acquisition, knowledge of the code of conduct and safe riding, respect for the mountain, and having fun. Each participant will gain a solid foundation that will enable him or her to continue in one of Alpine’s competitive snowboard programs, and will also have confidence and a life-long love of riding. Training includes park, big mountain, boarder cross, and half pipe. The Snowboard team is available to riders ages 7 to 18 as of December 31, 2013 and is offered on weekends and holidays.

Requirements for the Snowboard Team

1. Advanced intermediate or better.
2. Children ages 7-8 must be advanced beginner riders and able to turn and stop on their own.
3. Children ages 9-18 must be riding intermediate terrain
4. Must have basic terrain park skills mastered (ie sliding boxes and jumps)
5. Helmets & eye protection are required for all team members.
