[Olympic Valley and Alpine Meadows, Calif.] February 8, 2013 –A storm blew in yesterday bringing up to 4 inches of new snow and freshening up conditions just in time for the weekend.  Forecasters are predicting a chance of 1-3 additional inches of snow this afternoon, before clearing up for a beautiful sunny weekend. Colder temps are also forecasted for today and throughout the weekend, which will keep the snow crisp and fresh for weekend visitors.

This weekend will be a great weekend not only to ski and ride, but also to catch some action-packed spectating with the Rahlves’ Banzai Tour taking place at Alpine Meadows and the Helly Hansen Big Mountain Battle at Squaw Valley.  Showcasing racing in its purest form of four at a time going head-to-head over natural terrain in ski and boarder-cross style action, the Rahlves’ Banzai Tour returns to Alpine Meadows for the third year this Saturday and Sunday.

On the other side of the ridgeline, the Helly Hansen Big Mountain Battle will come to Squaw this Saturday. The Big Mountain Battle features teams of two who on big mountains at ski resorts across North America.
